Worship the King 

Text: Matthew 2:1-12 (p. 807) 

The star was  - and these wisemen were watching for it. They were looking for the star that would come out of Jacob, the star that would rule with a scepter. (Num. 24:17)

 

They didn't merely speak lofty words or casually bow on a knee. They were overcome and, almost as if they lost the ability to stand, they fell down in their worship to

  • Herod  Jesus. 

Like many today, Herod was going to do life .  

  • The Jewish leaders were  about Jesus. 
  • The wisemen

 

Christmas is about

Worship is the summary word of what it means to  and  Jesus.  

Worship is the willingness to be  in pursuit of the King. 

Worship is the willingness to  even when it's risky. 

Worship is the willingness to be generous with what you have, trusting the King to provide all that you need for the

Worship is the willingness to take my  and cast it down in recognition there is One much greater than I.

Worship is the willingness to use our words, to use our actions, to use our  to show anyone who will notice that Jesus is a King like no other.
