Don't Settle 

For Where You Are 

Text: Col. 3:1-17 (p. 984)

Growth is  but not

God wants everyone increasingly (Col. 1:27) 

Best - the greatness of the riches of God - comes as we grow, as we learn to live our lives taking step after step with Jesus. 

The goal of our faith is to  Jesus, to grow in Jesus, to become more like Jesus deep within, to grow in being closer and closer to Him. (Col. 3:9-13) 

Focus on growth in Jesus , and Jesus will get rid of the  and

 is the result of choice, not circumstances. (Col. 3:15)

Part of the growth we must choose is our . We  on Jesus and His kingdom, and we interpret the events of this life through Jesus.

My concern is that we are individualizing our faith more and more and doing less and less in community. And we're doing so to our

I don't want to settle for where I am. I want to grow. I want to be , walking closer and closer with Jesus, knowing Him in deeper and deeper ways.
