Growing up in a pastor's home, Vicki believed her salvation was based on performance. She never felt good enough and would often ask Jesus to forgive her and to come back into her heart. As a freshman in college, she cried out to Jesus, as she couldn't continue to live that way. She needed to know not just in her head, but in her heart that there was nothing she could do that would separate her from Jesus' love. He spoke to her through Romans, about how we are not justified by works, but only by faith. Her relationship with Jesus changed forever that night, as it's no longer based on a list of do's and don'ts, but knowing there's nothing she can do that would make Him love her any less.
