I Am Deciding

Series: Think Ahead

Summary

The quality of our decisions determines the quality of our lives. News flash: we can be terrible at decision-making (Romans 7:19). When it comes to our choices, we are often overwhelmed (decision fatigue), afraid (analysis paralysis), or overly emotional. And to make matters worse, as the sheer volume of our decisions increases – experts suggest we make 35,000 decisions daily – the quality of our decisions decreases. It is the sum of our decisions that determines the direction and destiny of our lives; the choices we make today become the stories we will tell tomorrow. Thankfully, God helps and empowers us to make decisions now that help shape what we do later. When we partner with Him in pre-deciding, we put into place a clear course of action before the moment of decision. Pre-deciding reduces the number of overall decisions we must make, reduces the fear of deciding wrongly, and prevents emotion from taking over.
