Grace Upon Grace

Series: Long Story Short

David McQueenJuly 27, 2025Weekend Services

Passage: Acts 9:1-26

In this message, "Grace Upon Grace," Pastor David challenges us to truly grasp the profound question: "How far is too far for God's grace?". While we may intellectually know the answer, David explores our struggle to believe that nowhere is too far and nothing is too much for God's grace. This struggle is illustrated through challenging examples like a serial rapist, and Adolf Hitler. The message powerfully recounts the remarkable story of Saul's radical transformation into Paul, a persecutor of the early church who became a foundational figure in faith, demonstrating God's boundless mercy. It declares that your story and your failures are never greater than God's victory, and His grace is sufficient not only for forgiveness but to empower you to live out your divine purpose without fear. You are encouraged to say "yes" to Jesus and consider baptism as a public declaration of your faith. The message concludes by emphasizing that God wants everyone to come to a place of repentance, and His grace empowers believers to do anything He calls them to do.

Grace Upon Grace

Text: Acts 9:1-26

is too far -  is too much - for God's grace.

The magnitude of God's grace - the depths of which are so grand they cause us to  - are seen most clearly in Jesus. (Jn. 1:16-17)

Outside of Jesus, Saul/Paul - who many believed had done too much and gone too far - Paul was used by God to lay the  of our faith. Why Paul?

1 Timothy 1:15-16 15Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners - of whom I am the

16But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst sinners, Christ Jesus might display his  patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life.

Some of us in here have never said  to follow Jesus because we've thought, "I've done too much - sinned too badly - even for Jesus."

It's a  of hell to keep you from your Heavenly Father who aches to be restored to you. (Eph. 2:8-9)

Grace means I can do  God tells me to do. (2 Cor. 9:8)

Grace means we can quit living in  about the future. Whatever we might face in the days ahead - and some of it will be difficult - His grace will keep us strong when we are weak. (Heb. 4:16)
