Passage: Deuteronomy 6:4-7

Parents can most help their kids love God by walking the walk and talking the talk (Deuteronomy 6:5-7). The best thing we can do for our kids – for their relationship with God – is to let them see in our lives that we really believe what we say we believe. Our goal should be to love Jesus radically and personally. We ultimately cannot control or produce a love for God in our children; they will choose for themselves. In contrast, one of the worst things we can do is to make our faith simply about going to church. Nothing makes our faith more unappealing to our kids (and others) than to separate our real life and religious life. Another significant thing we can for our kids and their relationship with God is to talk about Him and to create a home environment where they can freely ask faith questions, no matter how challenging they may be. These conversations can become powerful, teachable moments. Unaddressed questions tend to lead to doubt and skepticism in our children; answered questions tend to lead to growth.

Text: Deuteronomy 6:4-7; Matthew 22:35-40

may be one of the most important words to our faith journey AND the way we take back our families, especially parents helping kids live in the abundant life Jesus died for them to have.

The single most  we can do with our lives is to love the Lord our God.

Would not the most important thing we can do as a parent be to make sure our kids have the  opportunity to love the One who alone is the lover of their souls?

Parents can most help kids  by walking the walk and talking the talk.

The absolute best thing we can do for our kid's relationship with God is to let them see in our lives we really  what we say we believe.

One of the worst things we can do, believe it or not, is to make our faith simply about going to

Either  is worth it all, or He is worth nothing. There is really no in between. (Rev. 3:15-16)

Parents sharing with our kids why we live the way we live will have a far greater  on their faith journey than the most eloquent of sermons.

Don't shy away from questions. Questions of faith are  moments. If your kid asks you a question of faith you can't answer, be honest. "I don't know; let's go find out."

Unaddressed questions tend to lead to doubt and ; addressed questions tend to lead to
