Text: Ephesians 4:1-6,15

 

No matter what level of spiritual  we’ve had, we all still need to grow up. (Acts 19)

 

Growing up is for our .

 

The calling each of us shares as a follower of Jesus is to grow up to be more and more . (2 Timothy 1:8-9)

 

All the  in Ephesians 4-6 are practical ways “we walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which we have been called.”

 

The word  is connected to a word we tend to struggle with. Obey.

 

If Jesus “learned ” while He was human, if He needed it, then so do we. (Hebrews 5:8)

 

Jesus knew obedience was core to our  of God. (John 15:10)

 

Jesus knew obedience leads to  and strength in this world. (Matthew 7:24-25)

 

Jesus connected obedience to . (John 8:31-32)

 

The thing Jesus first prayed for us was , knowing that  is key for us living the mission of Jesus in the world. (John 17:20-21)

 

This is likely why the first practical area of obedience Paul mentions is .

 

In the church we’re unified around a few foundational .

 

In everything else, we may , but we don’t divide.
