Knowing God

Series: Be Still

Passage: Psalms

Previous Page

Finishing up our "Be Still" series, Pastor David explores the profound strength found in stillness, reminding us that it is not weakness but the power to trust God and meet Him in the midst of our noisy culture. We delve into Ezekiel's vision of a life-giving river, flowing from the altar and growing ever deeper, bringing gladness, joy, satisfaction, and hope to even the deadest places like the Dead Sea, causing everything to live and flourish. This miraculous river is revealed to be Jesus Christ, the ultimate necessity for life, and we are invited to "go deep" with Him through practices like Sabbath, prayer, Bible reading, and fasting, experiencing a life of less fear, abundance, and confidence even amidst turmoil. As we immerse ourselves in Jesus, the expectation is that this living water will flow out of us, making our everyday lives eternal and bringing healing and life to a broken world, fulfilling God's work through us as we "wait on the Lord" by serving.

The greatest reward – the deepest blessing offered by Christianity - is

  • One side of being still means to purposefully  our lives on God through sabbath, through times of quiet where we draw near to God.

  • The other side of being still means to , to take what we heard and learned in sabbath and quiet and  it out. (Is. 40:31)

When we go  in the river that is Jesus, then the river flows out of us, which then takes us even . (Jn. 7:37-39)

Part of knowing Jesus in greater ways is joining Him in what He is doing in the lives of people, bringing that which is  and
