Be Strong

Series: A Better Life

David McQueenJuly 12, 2026Weekend Services

Passage: Ephesians 3:14-21

True spiritual strength is contrasted with "ego lifting," which is the hollow pursuit of appearing strong to others without putting in the necessary inner work,. This genuine strength is essential for believers to stand firm during the "day of evil," described as strategic, heightened moments of spiritual attack against one's life, marriage, or family,. The source outlines three pillars for developing this power: "kneeling" in voluntary surrender to God’s authority, ensuring Christ can "dwell" fully in an undivided heart by removing idols and battling sin, and seeking to experientially "know" the immeasurable, supernatural love of God that surpasses mere intellectual information,,,. Ultimately, this process allows believers to move past superficial facades and access the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit within their inner being, enabling them to lead a life of victory and abundance.

Be Strong

Main Text: Ephesians 3:14-21

A life of victory is not won by  strong but  strong.

Kneeling (v.14) is an act of  that declares where Jesus leads, I will follow.

It’s a , but strength comes from surrender.

The implication of the word  (v.17) is that it’s possible for Jesus to be in our hearts but not feel at home in our hearts.

If we want Christ to feel at home in our hearts, then we must battle for an  heart.  (Psalm 86:11; Matthew 22:37)

When we don’t battle against sin, we don’t lose our relationship with Jesus, but we make it where He doesn’t  in our hearts.

Sometimes our love for a  God has given us can get elevated above our love for God.

When we aren’t seeking to grow in our  in whatever He shows us, it keeps Jesus from being at home in our hearts.  (John 14:15)

If we want to go , if we want to be “rooted and established,” (v.17) then we must have an ever-growing knowledge of God’s love, a knowledge that isn’t just intellectual but .
