The Christmas Spirit
Empowering the Impossible
Text: Luke 1:26-38
The fact that our society talks about the as if it had power tells us how much we hunger, how much we almost instinctively know we need, power to live a selfless, loving, generous, grateful life.
The who created Adam in the Garden of Eden placed the incarnate Son into the womb of Mary. (Gen. 1:1-2, 26-27)
The (the true Spirit of Christmas) empowers the impossible.
One of the roles of the 3rd person of the Trinity, maybe the primary role, is to every follower of Jesus live the way we were designed to live before sin. (Jn. 16:7)
When we say yes to follow Jesus, we are utterly changed to the point that we the Spirit of God Himself. (1 Cor. 3:16)
Many Jesus followers, even if they’ve heard of the Holy Spirit, live as if they don’t who He is. (Acts 19:2)
God regularly calls us, like Mary, to be a part of things where we must on Him.
And when we say – and keep saying – God takes our everyday normal lives and does impossible things through them.
