Although Lauren claimed to be a Christian growing up, she did not have a personal relationship with the Lord. After years of bad decisions and trying to mold herself into what seems acceptable to those around her, she hit rock bottom. Wanting to kill herself, but not feeling right about doing so, she cried out to Jesus and surrendered her life to Him! But she fell back on what she knew and tried to mold herself into what a Christian should look like. The first two-three years was extremely difficult, but God spoke to her and told her that she was trying to sanctify herself, only something He can do. She needed a new foundation, rooted in Truth, and found freedom in knowing that she's not in charge of changing herself, she only needs to allow Him to do so.
