Orphan Spirit to Kingdom Identity

June 04, 2026

Kasey and Brittney's journey into foster care began when God first spoke to Brittney, though Kasey was initially resistant and told her the Lord would have to speak to him directly before he would consider it. After months of Brittney's quiet prayer and a transformative experience at a men's group, the Lord began to lay foster care on Kasey's heart, leading them to finally step out in obedience and complete the licensing process. Within just 27 minutes of being licensed, they received a call for their first placement—a child who has been with us for 21 months and is now becoming their forever son. This process has been a powerful mirror of kingdom adoption, teaching them to overcome an "orphan spirit" characterized by fear and insecurity by instead resting in our identity in Christ. They have seen firsthand that just as God prepares a place for us in His kingdom, He prepared our hearts and home for their son, proving that when children—and believers—truly feel they belong, they stop living like orphans and begin to live out of the Father's love.
