I love sharing the comfort and hope I have received with others who are in grief, watching their hearts heal during hard seasons of loss! The Lord has redeemed so much for me personally, and my desire is to see others experience that same kind of restoration and redemption.
I was born and raised in Nepal as a missionary kid until I was 15 (my parents were Wycliffe Bible Translators). The year we moved back to Texas for high school, I recognized my need for Jesus and surrendered my life to him. Since then, it has been a lifelong journey learning to surrender to Him, to love and delight in Him.
As a result of my mother’s death when in college (1991), and then my first husband’s tragic death while I was pregnant with our first son (1998) – and the deep healing and comfort I experienced in those difficult seasons – God led me into Grief Ministry. I have been leading the Side by Side Grief Ministry at Beltway since 2009, teaching classes, leading events, and meeting with individuals.
I am married to Than Brown (since 2001), and we have two grown sons, David (born in 1998) and Connor (born in 2004). It is my great joy to be called mom by these two amazing young men. I love my family, a good meal, a game together, the outdoors, sunshine, water/rivers, mountains, having people in my home, and a cup of coffee with a friend.
