Absurdity of Generosity 

God Loves a Cheerful Giver

 

Text: 2 Corinthians 9:6-11 (p.968) 

If we want the life and peace God has for us, we must allow Him to address the  we are believing in every arena of our lives, even areas we're not sure we want to address. 

  • Not because He has a need but because  have a need. (Ps. 50:10, 12) 
  • Because He's the  of Fathers. 

Every parent loves it when we see our children living out  that we know will lead to good things in their lives. 

We want to pretend it's not, but money is far weightier, far more connected to our , than most of us want to believe. 

Jesus is clear. Our  follows our . (Mt. 6:21) 

  • Because it is a  that God alone is my source of security today, tomorrow and always.

It is a  that my worth isn't found in how much I have but that my Father paid the largest price that has ever been paid for anything so I could be His child.

  • Because it means He can give to His kids what He longs for us to have - . (LK. 16:11) 
  • Because He loves it when His kids live with . (Acts 20:35) 

Some of the material things we have are for our employment. When we live in  to God for what we have, He loves that we enjoy. (Tim. 6:17) 

When we give from what God has given to us - when we are  - it brings a deep joy. (1 Tim. 6:18)
