Can We Trust the Bible? 

Text: 2 Peter 1:16-21 (p.1018)

Main reasons people say I trust the Bible: 

  • "I was  my entire life the Bible is God's Word." 

Just because you were taught something doesn't make it

  • "I feel  about the Bible." 

There are many things that initially start out feeling good and pleasurable, but they end up being . (Pr. 14:12)

  • "I have  the Bible is God's Word." 

We can truly believe in that which is

  • "The Bible  my life." 

When life gets tough, or when we hear a skeptic's questions about the Bible, or Scripture challenges what is normative for me or our culture, we need to have something

The New Testament can be trusted because it was written by

The content of the New Testament is too  to be legend. 

If you're creating a religion, you don't have the central, most  event of your religion to be the thing all of society struggles with the most. (1 Cor. 1:22-23)
