Text: 1 Peter 2:1-3 (p.1014)

We grow up in salvation by actively the past.

We will not step into all that the Father has for us unless we actively and purposefully deal with the , mistakes, wounds and of our past.

We can do nothing to be more of a child of God than what we become when we say yes to be .

(Jn. 3:3; Eph. 2:8)

But we are not yet anywhere close to what we are to be.

Salvation is a , a life-long journey, of God restoring us back to the way He originally designed us.

(1 Cor. 1:18)

We tend to the effects of our past.

We tend to think will resolve our past.

alone doesn’t empower us to quit destructive behavior or to be healed from the pain of the past.

We tend to try to our past.

As we in Jesus and live in with Him, He continues to save us, heal our past and empower us for the future He died for us to have. (Gal. 5:1)
