God has worked – God is - in powerful ways. It is what we see in the Bible; it is what we as a community experience as we follow Jesus.

If you didn’t know the end of the story, what do you give David? (1 Sam. 17:4-7; 2 Sam. 21:20)

Most of us give David better than we give ourselves against our giants.

We all see Goliath. We all hear his voice taunting us, heaping on us with every fear-inducing shout.

Is the giant all we ? Are his taunts all we ? (1 Sam. 17:26)

Life’s giants demand .

This account is about far more than David and Goliath. This is vs. . (1 Sam. 17:36-37,45-47)

David saw what others didn’t see and to focus on what others focused on.

superseded everything else. David wanted to know God. David redeemed his time to focus on the reality of God. (Ps. 27:4)

He spent time meditating on the reality of God – .

God designed us to walk through life with him, on Him, following Him, relying on His strength – knowing deep within what David knew.

The is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
