In scripture, we are given different images of human relationships that correspond to our relationship with God.  They progress in their intensity and grow in their intimacy.  One specific image is of Jesus as a bridegroom and the Church as a bride.   We must live our lives in a way that prepares for His return, because Jesus IS coming for His bride!
