Jesus invites us to learn of Him in order to experience rest and have a secure foundation (Matthew 7:24-27; 11:28-29). We learn from Jesus and take steps towards winning the war against anxiety by engaging Him in the Bible. He has revealed Himself in Scripture and desires that we know Him and how He works. We can encounter Jesus in the Bible and establish a firm foundation by finding a consistent time to read it, setting realistic goals, and finding healthy accountability. For those who don’t know where to start, the first four books of the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John) about the life and teachings of Jesus is a great place to start.
