Come to Me

September 15, 2019 | David McQueen

Passage: Matthew 11:28

Jesus wants us to come to Him to find rest (Matthew 11:28-30). As we come to Him, He whispers into our spirit, “I’ve got this!” Coming to Jesus is about focus, and rest in His presence comes as we feed our focus on Him and starve our distractions. We feed our focus by praising God together, being intentional in prayer, engaging Scripture to know Him better and to hear His voice, having deeper conversations with each other to declare His goodness and to encourage one another, and by pressing into Him through tools like fasting, stillness, and solitude. His promise is that He will keep in perfect peace those whose mind is steadfast or focused on Him (Isaiah 26:3).
