Text: John 3:1-5, 16-17 (p. 887) 

For Nicodemus to meet with Jesus the Nazarene, even in secret, was to . (Jn. 12:42-43)

Nicodemus had spent his life living  - rule after rule - seeking to find the life of God, yet He had not found it. 

So many people have this idea that God is somehow out to  us, out to  from us. And nothing could be further from the truth. 

Jesus implores us to be satisfied with nothing short of  that is only found in the kingdom of God. (Mt. 11:28-30; 5:1-8; Jn. 10:10)

To be part of the kingdom of God requires not merely a modification of our behavior but a change in our . 

To be  we must believe. 

Believe is to trust; believe is to follow with my whole being; believe is to  to the King of the kingdom. 

We are  so we can  into abundant life. 

The moment we  to Jesus, we are as Christian as we can ever be. 

And we spend the entirety of our lives  to be who we already are in Jesus. 

The more we , the more abundance we find.
