When our consumer mindset hits a wall called Jesus, we either adjust our mentality to Jesus, or we subtly change our mentality about Jesus. When Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey, it was a declaration that He was their promised King, a King of peace. But the crowd saw Him as a King of war, hoping He would bring military deliverance from the rule and oppression of the Roman Empire. They wanted Jesus on a warhorse, not a donkey. This is why a week later the same crowd was calling for Him to be crucified.
