From Suffering to Glory
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18
How frequently do you ask the question, “I wonder what heaven is like?” It’s very likely that when things are going favorably in your life, you don’t take time to ask this question. We truly were not meant for this world but were initially meant to be with God. The plan, when God created the garden in all of its perfection, was for us to be with Him. However, as sin entered the world through Adam, we were thrust into this temporary world where pain and suffering can be experienced until the Lord returns for us and creates a new heaven and earth that we will enjoy in the presence of the Trinity.
Today’s Prayer: Father, will You aid me in living by faith in the midst of the things that trouble me the most, the things that create the greatest pain and suffering in my life, presently. Your promises are “yes and amen” because of Your unending and unwavering love for me. Help me to find the peace and purpose of the suffering I must endure for a season and help me to see the picture of heaven that you paint for me. Help me to transition from suffering to glory in my circumstances because my trust is in You. Let it be “on earth as it is in heaven” as my experience in trusting and following You.
Today’s Challenge: Praise the Lord as much as you can in the hardest of circumstances. Give thanks in all circumstances because God is faithful, and nothing that touches your life goes unnoticed by Him. Ask God to reveal your destiny in this life and ask for Him to give you the glimpses of heaven that will be your ultimate reward in His presence one day.
